Working effectively, sensitively and confidentially with families requires trust, cultural responsiveness and careful communication.  The ECA Code of Ethics (Early Childhood Australia, 2016) commits me to partnerships built on trust and confidentiality. The resource Microsoft form allows me to create personalised surveys sent out to families demonstrating communication skills beyond the learning environment (Figure 14). Microsoft form surveys include conversation prompts, multiple communication opportunities and options of QR code, email or paper version, as well as translated options for EAL/D families. R. Clark (2020) explores how family contexts shape children's experiences, and Grace et al. (2022) remind me that families differ in structure, culture, language and circumstance. The Microsoft Family Feedback forms have the option for families to share their child's interests, home cultures, values and reflect on services practices. The parents can have their name displayed or remain anonymous, therefore, sharing honest and constructive feedback. Creating this engagement platform with families helped me see that sensitive communication is planned rather than improvised. This resource prepares me to build partnerships where every family feels respected, heard and safe to share.
