Collaborating with external professionals and community members broadens my knowledge and ensures children receive coordinated support. Speech pathologists, occupational therapists, child health nurses, Elders and local organisations each bring expertise that enriches my practice (Boyd et al., 2021). Nicholson et al. (2020) link collaborative leadership to social justice, reminding me that partnerships should empower families rather than sideline them. I selected the ECIA National Guidelines: Best Practice in Early Childhood Intervention (Early Childhood Intervention Australia, 2016) because they describe family centred and team-based approaches in which professionals share knowledge and support children within their everyday environments (Figure 15). This resource guides me to work as a respectful member of a transdisciplinary team, using shared goals and clear communication so that collaboration strengthens children's participation and learning.
